CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

Municipality Of Markstay-Warren
Watermain Distribution Upgrades

The Municipality of Markstay-Warren, through its consultant R.V. Anderson Associates Limited, is undertaking a Schedule "B" Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to review alternatives for upgrading the water distribution system in both the communitites of Markstay and Warren.

Background

In response to water distribution concerns, the Municipality of Markstay-Warren is considering upgrades to the water distribution system in the communities of Markstay and Warren. The areas of concern include Rejean Street and Rolland Street in Markstay and Lafontaine Street, Salisbury Street, Mangan Lane, Laurier Lane, St Thomas Street and College Street in Warren.

Public Input

Planning and approbal for this project are proceeding under the Municipal Engineers' Assocation - Class environmental Assessment Document, and approved planning document that describes the process that a municipality must follow in order to meet the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act.

A Public Information meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10th, 2016 at the Markstay-Warren Municipal Office from 6:00pm to 8:00pm to review the project information and preferred alternative.

Upon completion of the Class EA Study, a Project Pile will be available for public review for a period of 30 calendar days. It will document the planning process followed, alternatives considered, evaluation of alternatives, including public input and determine the recommended option. The public will be notified of the date and location of the Project File at the appropriate time through similar public notice.

The Class EA approach allows for the comprehensive evaluation of the environmental impacts of a project and the methods of completing that prouject, as well as an opportunity to solicit and consider public input. Persons or parties wishing to provide input to the planning process for this project, or who require further information are invited to contact the individuals below.
