The Municipality of Markstay-Warren is proposing infrastructure improvements on Nepewassi Lake Road Bridge.  This work is anticipated to start mid-July, 2018 and be completed by Mid-October 2018.

Please be advised that pushing snow onto or across the highway/Road and/or parking on a highway/road in such a way as to interfere with snow removal activities is in contravention to the Highway Traffic Act. Failure to follow the Act may result in charges being laid by the OPP and/or the towing of your vehicle to an impound yard. Please help us keep our highways safe by following the rules and by driving according to weather conditions.

VEHICLES INTEREFERING WITH TRAFFIC - Despite the other provisions of this section, no person shall park or stand a vehicle on a highway in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic or the clearing of snow from the highway. R.S.O. 1990, c.H.8, s. 170(1)

POWERS OF OFFICER TO REMOVE VEHICLE - A police officer, police cadet, municipal law enforcement officer or an officer appointed for the carrying out the provisions of this Act, upon discovery, which may be enforced in the manner provided by the Repaid and Storage Liens Act. R.S.O., c.H.8, s. 181.

DEPOSIT OF SNOW ON THE ROADWAY - No person shall deposit snow or ice on a roadway without permission in writing to do so from the Ministry or the road authority responsible for the maintenance of the road. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 181.
